1. Splashway Waterpark & Campground - Sheridan

Bahama Beach Waterpark is a small water park right outside of downtown Dallas. Because of its proximity to the city and affordable prices, it is an ideal place for a short half-day visit if you aren’t free to spend an entire day there. 4. Typhoon Texas - Pflugerville

Have Pfun zipping down water slides and having a dip in one of the many pools at Typhoon Texas. Race down a water slide. The 23-acre Typhoon Texas Waterpark offers pfun for all ages. 5. Rock'n River Family Aquatic Center - Round Rock

10. Splashtown San Antonio

Located within the city, Splashtown San Antonio is one of the biggest parks featured in this article, with over 50 rides and attractions. After a day of thrilling water slides, stay for one of their dive-in movie nights, where you can watch a movie while lying back on floats in a pool. You’ve probably heard of it before, but not many places offer dive-in movies anymore. So if that is something you’ve always wanted do, now is your chance. An extra bonus is that free parking and life jackets are provided for all visitors.

11. NRH2O Family Water Park - Richard Hills

Serving as the city of North Richland Hills’ public swimming facility, NRH2O Family Water Park is a local, suburban park located between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. It is typically less crowded and touristy than others, offering a variety of single-rider and multi-rider rides. While it does have several thrilling rides, NRH2O Water Park has milder rides that are more suitable for kids. This is the place to go if you want to avoid waiting in extremely long lines for every ride.

12. Wet Zone Water Park - Rowlett

Wet Zone Waterpark is located in the Dallas suburb of Rowlett, just east of downtown off of I-30. This fun water park opens on weekends starting at the end of April and then daily starting every June. It has a wide variety of features, including several water slides, splash areas and swimming pools. It also holds parent-tot swim classes. Visitors can rent out the pavilion areas for private parties as well.

13. Pirate's Bay Water Park - Baytown

Pirate’s Bay Waterpark is located in the city of Baytown, not far from Houston. Just because it is on a smaller-scale than most water parks, that does not mean Pirate’s Bay Waterpark has less attractions. With a general admission ticket, you can get access to 11 water rides, including a variety of slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. Beach volleyball and rock climbing is also available if you wish to stay dry during your visit.

Extend your day of summer fun into the night. Like Splashtown San Antonio (see #8), Pirate’s Bay also hosts dive-in movies every Thursday evening at 8 pm from June to August. Check the website below for more information on what movies they are showing on a specific date.

15. Kalahari Resorts & Conventions - Round Rock

America’s largest indoor water park opening in Round Rock. It is  expected to open in November 2020. Kalahari Resort will have a 975-room hotel and a 200,000-square-foot convention center inside a 1.5 million-square-foot resort. While these parks are known for their prominent size, they also have an African theme and family-style lodging.

16. Big River Water Park And Adventure -

Big Rivers Waterpark and Gator Bayou Adventure Park are two fun-filled destinations at one location. Both are part of the Grand Texas development, located north of Houston near the intersection of Interstate 69 (aka 59) and Highway 242.

Guests of Big Rivers Waterpark will find they have quite a variety of ways to splashdown. The older crowd can choose from numerous waterslides, like Storm Surge, Comal Crush, and Pecos Plunge while toddlers can slide around Hatchling Hill, with six small slides to choose from. Guests can also choose to glide down the lazy Rio Grand River on bloating tubes and bask in the sun. If the weather isn’t up to par, visitors can also check out Gator Gulch to get up close and personal with alligators, or Big Al’s Fishing Hole and Farm. where they can go fishing or pet and play with goats, sheep, and more.
