If you live in Texas, South Padre Island is a must to visit. It is so tropical down there, and they have a wide-open beach area. We enjoyed our stay, and we got our tan ;). We stayed at the condo so we can save money by cooking our food and bring it to the beach. And glad we did because it rained one day, so we decided to watched movies and stay at the condo.
The Pirate Adventure Cruise. Be sure and arrive early (a half hour or so) for the “meet and greet” session on the waterfront patio behind Black Jack’s restaurant.
Lunch @ Blackbeard’s. We love seafood very much, whenever we are on the coast we made sure to get some while we can at Blackbeard’s Restaurant. Their food is always good and the serving enough to fill you up.
For our lunch, I got fried flounder with popcorn shrimp and fried onion. Yummy!
While Scott goes for the crabs. Their Dungenous crabs are the best.
The souvenir shop just right after you get off the bridge from South Padre on the right side of the road. They have plenty of coastal souvenirs. The place is huge and also their ice cream is so good.
