Weekend Guide To Galveston For Families

Something Fun And Interesting! TRAVEL-HOME-FAMILY
Hello there! Probably at least by now, the one who follows Funterest noticed that if I am not sharing about the park, I am sharing about the ocean/beach, or the historic town. For now, this is the easy thing we can at least do and enjoy as a family getaway. If you have kids and looking for a place to spend a weekend, you might want to consider visiting Galveston. Galveston will keep you entertain and amaze.
Galveston Texas is another place that both my husband and I, love to visit at least once a year if not twice. Galveston is known for Moody Gardens, where giant glass pyramids house sharks, monkeys, and other animals. Amusement rides and restaurants line Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier on the south shore. West is bird-rich Galveston Island State Park, with its trails, kayak launches, and fishing spots. Stewart Beach and East Beach are on the island’s eastern end.

Moody Gardens are the fun place to spend time with your little ones. Eventhough our son was not even a year old when we took him, he was having fun in the aquarium, and so was daddy.Lol..

The smell of this place is very irrestible and will drag you into the store. It’s a candy heaven, great selection, high quality, reasonable prices, friendly accommodating staff, that’s all you need to have a good day. I love the ice cream and the caramel covered green apple was delish.
Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier a great amusement fun right on the beach but it comes with a price. Yes, it’s a little bit pricey, so if you plan to ride all the rides better yet get an all-day pass. The lights after dark made it a perfect evening.
Small off the beaten path gems, but obviously popular with the locals. Truly a great find. Must try if you like seafood! We had the best fried shrimp in town, and thier fried catfish are big enough to share. Very casual atmosphere.
Nice hotel, great location. We stayed for three days, and we got the room with balcony facing the ocean. We enjoyed it every moment. Their staffs are super friendly and helpful. Pleasure Pier is just a walking distance.

Hi Holly,
The food was the best part of this trip. We don’t get that much fresh seafood in our area. So whenever we can get it, we always stuffed ourselves. lol..

Hi Mariah,
We stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Galveston Beach. We love it, great location just across the beach and newly renovated.
Enjoy and have fun!
