Camilla Hansson: successful businesswoman, confident supermodel and inspirational woman. I had the pleasure of interviewing the humble Camilla about her lifestyle, her goals, and what it takes to be confident.
Camilla, you are former Miss Sweden and former Miss Earth Sweden. What did you take from this experience, and how do you use it now in your daily life?
It taught me how to feel confident and how to maximise my image. It also taught me how your posture, stance and body language are important aspects of how people perceive you. This is a really handy tool to use in certain work and social situations.
Holistic health is your passion. What fuels this passion? What holistic practices do you bring into your daily life?
Yes, learning and applying the principles of holistic health has become my passion and calling in life. After Miss Universe, I studied to become a nutritionist and Naturopath. I struggled with acne, weight gain, and period pain in my early 20s, some of which started after being on antibiotics for a while because of pneumonia. I wanted to find an answer and it wasn’t in traditional medication in my case.
Some of the holistic practices that I apply in my daily life are intermittent fasting, brushing dry skin, using the steam room/sauna, and starting the day with just fruit. All of this helps me look and feel my best.
You have a diploma in nutrition, and that I actually want to know what your favourite cheat food is. What do you eat everyday?
I’d say my favourite cheat meal is what I had recently over the vacations: a conventional Swedish Christmas meal with my family! It’s pretty heavy but it is only Christmas once a year so I let myself really enjoy it without feeling guilty. But I made sure to at least exercise during this period. I all the time try to maintain balance.
I eat a plant-based diet, which means that almost all of my diet consists of plants. I eat some animal products here and there. I enjoy eating only fruit for breakfast and then for lunch I might have salmon with vegetables. For dinner I might have some soup with some side vegetables. It also varies depending on the season. In winter I eat mainly warm cooked food and in summer I eat raw cold food, like salads.
Besides nutrition, what else do you do to stay fit?
I currently do a mixture of Barry’s Bootcamp, barre classes, and cardio in the morning. Sometimes I just go to the gym for 30 minutes and do whatever I feel like at the time. Anything is better than nothing!
You teach courses and workshops on self-confidence. What makes a person confident, and why is it so important?
I believe what makes a person confident is a combination of factors. What I teach is social etiquette and wonder pageant classes. As mentioned before, knowing how to use body language, having a confident attitude and mindset, good social skills, and knowing proper etiquette will help you become more confident. Faith is critical for anything you actually want to do in life. Without it you’ll be detained.
You are currently an envoy for the Women’s Environmental Network. What does this organization do? What do you want people to know about it?
The Women’s Environmental Network is UK The charity works on issues that connect women, health, and the environment. We do not currently do any work together, but I encourage everybody to look it up! They have lots of helpful information on their website on how to avoid harmful toxins in the environment, particularly for girls.
Imagine yourself ten years from now. What are your plans for the future?
I try to live day to day because otherwise it can get a little overwhelming, but I certainly see myself working in the health and wellness space. I launched soon health and wonder blog with my sister. In this blog I will share all my inner secrets. Take it from someone who has been in the industry for a while. Stay tuned for it!
If you could give a young woman one piece of health advice, what would it be?
Learn how to cook your own food. If you do this then you cannot go wrong.
