This aquarium is a great attraction for a young family. It is very well kept and fairly new so it is tastefully done. There are a few amusement park rides that are reasonably priced when you buy the day pass. This is not a huge aquarium, but for our young son, it was the perfect size. The Shark Train tour was really fun and the White tiger exhibit was fun because you could view them up close. I’d definitely recommend this for a 2 to 3 hour visit. I will say that the restaurant which is owned by Landry’s had good food, but a little pricy for a family meal.

petting and feeding the sting rays

…And you can’t forget the stingrays. You can purchase food to feed them. There’s also other animals to view, like, the snakes, alligators, an array of fish and other sea creatures. On hot summer days, cool off in the splash pad – just remember no running.

If you get hungry there’s common theme park snacks available, like, pretzels, hot dogs, ice cream, etc. If you want something a little more fancy eat at the restaurant on the second floor. The entire restaurant is an aquarium. You’re always looking at fish no matter which direction you turn. The size of some of the fish will amaze you.

If you only have time for one ride I would definitely recommend the train! It’s an audio tour that takes you around the property with a nice little surprise toward the end.
