“A simple hairstyle with a touch of pizazz is ideal for any holiday gathering,” says celebrity hairstylist Symonds. “This headband twist offers a bit of shine you’ll want to wear all season.”
Step 1. Comb through dry, clean hair or second day hair with the Styler + Smoother Hair Brush to smooth out frizz.
Step 2. Take part of the hair on the crown of the head, comb it barely back and all the way down to create volume. Repeat this a few more times, picking up more hair as you go. When the desired volume is reached, gently smooth the top without disturbing the volume you just created.
Step 3. Place your headband (hello, glitter!) in the desired position on your head, over all your hair. Then, secure it at the nape of the neck with a few bobby pins.
Step 4. One at a time, take the two side sections in front of every ear and gently twist them back and into the headband. The elasticity of the headband will hold it in place.
Step 5. Now that all your hair is set back, divide into two sections and loosely braid every one. Doing this creates texture and control as you wind it back to the base of the headband. Secure each braid with a clear elastic.
Step 6. Go back in with your fingers and separate each braid barely to create a fuller, more “unraveled” look. Then, take one of the braids and tie it through the back of the headband, letting the ends hang down. Repeat on other side.
Step 7. Tuck both ends into the loop to hide it and secure with bobby pins.
Step 8. Spray your entire head with medium-hold hairspray and you are ready to party all night long!
