Most people struggle to stay healthy because they try and make drastic changes or find shortcuts. If you want to maintain good health, it is all about changing your lifestyle in a sustainable manner. So, keep that in mind, here are some lifestyle changes that you can easily make, and that will help you be healthier this year:
Reduce your meat intake
I’m not trying to force everybody to be vegan or vegetarian, but just reduce the amount of meat you eat. There is a really good book called How Not To Die, and it does quite a lot about what is in the food we eat. Apparently, consuming quite a lot of meat products will lead to more health problems, incl heart problems and cancer. So if you start cutting back and becoming more flexible with your diet, it can reduce your chances of developing serious health problems. Two easy ways you can do this are by eating one meal per day that does not include meat, or if that’s too heavy, then one or two days a week that are totally meatless.
Drive less
The more you drive, the unhealthy you’ll be. I’ve had a few issues with driving, one of which is that you are all the time only one bad driver away from having to file claims for injuries as a result of traffic accidents. Accidents occur much more repeatedly than you may realize, which can put your health & well-being in danger. But, the main gripe I have is that it just makes you lazy. You end up in a sitting position for most of your day, and you hardly ever get up and walk around. So, drive less, and begin walking more. Or, cycle to work twice a week rather than driving every day. It’s a small change, but your health will benefit from being more active during the week.
Drink more water
That is simple; our bodies need water to survive and operate at peak efficiency. It’s usually recommended to drink 2 liters of water per day, which can be done quickly if you get a water bottle. The one that keeps your water cold for 12 hours is ideal because it encourages you to drink more because the water really tastes nice and cold! By drink more waterYou are essentially maintaining healthy skin, preventing fatigue, improving recovery after exercise, and customarily maintaining excellent health.
Try and get at least 30 minutes of activity per day
Active minutes refer to the time your body is actively burning calories, and your heart rate is increasing. You may think this is a difficult thing to attain because you haven’t got time to go to the gym for at least 30 minutes every day. However, so many things count in your active minutes; walk, run up the stairs, bike, do yoga – anything that gets the blood flowing and the heart pumping! He proven to be around 150 active minutes per week will help you stay fit and healthy, so aim for 30 days!
See, you haven’t got to make big changes to get healthy. Make these easy little lifestyle changes, and you will have a healthier year in 2019.
