Jonathan and Drew Scott, stars of the hit HGTV show “Property Brothers,” can now add #1 New York Time best-selling authors to their resumes.
The dynamic duo recently released their debut book, The Home of Dreams: The Property Brothers’ Ultimate Guide to Finding & Refurbishing Your Perfect Homewhere they solely share with me the inspiration for the book.
“We’ve accumulated this wealth of knowledge over many years from everything we’ve done, so we thought it was time to put it into resources,” said Jonathan.
In their book, the famous brothers give tips on buying, selling and renovating homes. As for the recommendation they wish someone had given them when they were getting started?
“The mistake we made early on was that we overrenovated—we didn’t realize that every neighborhood has different buyers—it wasn’t just one common way to upgrade a property,” says Drew.
Since then, the successful couple have hosted four shows on HGTV, mastering the art of renovation. Out of the hundreds of homes they’ve plastered, which home is their favourite?
“Definitely my home is in Vegas because I have to install a waterslide for myself—a two-story commercial waterslide,” says Jonathan.
The HGTV hunks proved to be multi-talented as they not only starred in their own show, but they also co-wrote “Hold On”, the theme song to “Property Brothers at Home on the Ranch”.
“We didn’t realize “Wait” was going to hit the Billboard charts and go to No. 1 on Vevo”, said Jonathan. “We will definitely write more music, but we will make sure it comes organically for us.”
The two brothers revealed artists they would like to work with when they start writing again.
As for Drew, “Darius Rucker is someone I would love to work with. He’s our friend and he’s an amazing artist. I want to do music with him.”
“Taylor Swift has been calling me non-stop, and I’m like, ‘Taylor, Taylor, enough, I don’t have time to write right now,’” Jonathan joked.
