Traveling is one of life’s greatest pleasures – so let’s look lovely while we do it. It’s important to take a step back from our routine, explore unconventional paths and find the perfect and fun place to renew. As president and artistic director of a marketing and design agency, MODStudio, I maximize my beauty regimen. And if the day comes when I find myself stranded on a desert island (oh my!), I want to be camera ready!
This is why I made my list of island beach beauty needs.
#1 – Put Safety First: It’s impossible to give beauty advice without bringing up skin protection. This is critical for all tropical vacations. But sunscreen can be greasy and even ruin a new manicure… have you noticed that?! I do not go outside before implementing “my home base”. Even a tiny drop Vitalumière Aqua from Chanel (broad spectrum SPF 15) will hydrate my face to disclose a fresh skin tone.
#2 – That Fat: To spice up your appearance before going to the beach, I suggest Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss. It quenches my lips in the heat of the day and maintains a moisturised and plumped look for a long lasting shine without any stickiness.
#3 – Moisture ZAP Zip: The only downside to warm weather is humidity. Avoid bad hair days living the island life using this lightweight, moisture-resistant hair spray to keep your fly and frizzy moments out of sight!
#4 – Ready. The rich. twinkle: To keep my makeup looking fresh all day, I spray it lightly Elevé Cosmetics Jet Setter Finishing Spray. This spray allows me to go all day without checking the mirror. This is particularly useful when I’m in a location that does not have mirrors! My heart is even more connected to this natural, vegan-based product because it’s manufactured in Austin, Texas – where I call home.
#5 – Half My Butter: I’m whipped for god body butter to keep my skin smooth and hydrated, while on vacation. After a long day in the sun, this is the perfect way to prepare for a wonderful day or night to relax.
I aim to make the most of each moment away from the office. This means being prepared, but also being snug when things go awry. In my years of owning the company, I’ve also learned that there’s ALWAYS a plan B.
