We all watch YouTube videos where beauticians use products you would never even think of using. And we all walk through the Ulta aisles wondering if those products really work.
I’m here to break down five products you think you do not need, but really do. Seriously,
1) SPRAY SETTINGS
NYX Setting Spray in Matte & Dewy
I heard that setting sprays do wonders and never understood what the craze was about. I mean, how can some random liquid in a spray bottle help with makeup, right? Wrong! I had never tried setting sprays until a few weeks ago. And let me tell you, I’m never going back! Before making my product’s chosen setting spray, I tested it to see how accurate the phrase “durable and long-lasting” on the label really was. I spent a day at a water park, worked in a building with no air con, and ran around doing errands in the heart of Phoenix and my makeup never smudged or smudged. You may not think you need a tuning spray, but you do!
2) NUDE EYELINER
What’s the point of applying nude eyeliner? Won’t it blend in with your natural skin tone, making it virtually invisible? That’s what I believed until I attempted it. I love applying nude pencil liners to my lower waterline or inner corner of my eyes. I find that it helps open my eyes so much more. Nude eyeliner also works to highlight the bottom of your brow bone. Versatility is unquestionably a good thing! To make it a little fancier, you can add metallic silver liner to the inner corners of your eyes. Perfect and delightful!
3) QUICK DRYING TOP COAT SECHE VITE
I used to think that clear paint was pointless. Why add a top coat to your lovely manicure?
Just to make it shiny? Wrong! This top coat not only protects your nails from peeling off, but also dries quickly. Nobody likes to sit and wait for nails to dry. And to be honest, while waiting for our nails to dry, we virtually at all times get them dirty. But after one coat of this clear polish, your nails will dry much quicker than you might think. This product is an absolute MUST.
4) OIL ABSORBENT SHEETS
Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheet
Some time ago, I heard about oil absorbent sheets and never gave it another thought. I used to think I could dry my face with a tissue to give it the same effect as an absorbent sheet. That’s where I went wrong. You can find oil-absorbing sheets virtually anywhere and they come in convenient travel packaging. They absorb oils no one really wants, without stripping your makeup off. They make you look flawless with utterly matte makeup.
Sometimes shining is not at all times a good thing!
5) DRY SHAMPOO
Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo
When I first heard about dry shampoo, I believed it was the weirdest thing. Why use dry shampoo when you can wash your hair in the shower, right? Wrong! Many stylists discourage daily hair washing, and lots of girls follow that advice. Fewer washes lead to healthier hair, but every girl knows that the longer you wait to wash your hair, the oilier your hair will be. And nobody likes the feeling of walking around with greasy hair!
That’s where dry shampoo comes into play. Applying dry shampoo on days you do not wash your hair primarily helps remove unattractive oil, while still keeping your scalp healthy. On days when your hair looks too greasy to function, dry shampoo is the go-to product for sure.
The next time you want to know if a product really works or not, give it a try! This may be your next beauty need!
