Everyone is at all times trying to find the latest games to play at family gatherings. But rather than uprooting Monopoly, why not try this outdoor game instead? These are some of the best outdoor games you have possibly never heard of. But once you learn it, you will want to play it in every encounter.
9 Boxes
Feel free to search 9 square for sale, and that is because these games are great for everybody, young or old. 9 Square combines elements of volleyball and 4 Square, but instead expands to 9 and is lifted off the ground. Everyone stands on a box and the person in the middle, known as the king, serves the ball through their box to another. Everyone gets one chance to get it out of their box and into someone else’s. They are out if they hit the ball more than once during their turn, the ball touches the ground in that player’s box, or if they hit the ball out of bounds. As they exit, they circle back to square one while everybody else moves forward to take that person’s space. The goal is to maintain the king role in the center position for so long as possible.
Roller
Roller is a game for people who often hesitate and do not know what to play. It combines elements of bocce ball, grass bowling, and horseshoes. You take your team’s wooden disc and try to get it as near the goal as possible. The closest one gets the point value on that disc. Whoever reaches the first 21 wins, but you must win by at least two points to claim victory.
Illuminated Bocce Ball
Everyone knows bocce ball, but the fun does not must end when the sun goes down. An illuminated bocce ball lets you keep playing, with LEDs on the ball that last a long time. Not the strangest game out there, but it is certainly a different way to play it.
Molky
This is also known as Numbered skittles and is a straightforward throwing game that requires a little bit of luck and quite a lot of skill. It is getting more and more popular every year so more and more people are playing it. One set comes with 12 wooden skittles numbered 1 through 12. You arrange them in number order and begin throwing throwing pins at them. Turns alternate between teams and points are earned based on which pins are knocked down. If you drop more than one, then each only counts as one point, so there’s some strategy involved.
Page Dice
Take your favourite game and make it more fun on a much bigger scale. All you need is a pair of huge wooden dice to get you excited, and you’ll be entertained for hours. Play Greedy, 21 Aces, or even try your hand at Street Craps.
Family gatherings won’t ever be the same again with this practical outdoor game at your disposal. The only downside is planning for the weather, but that should not be a problem during the summer.
