Everyone should have a wish list that includes spending at least one summer of their life in the Hamptons. The Hamptons are home to amazing beaches, charming scenery, great food and luxury vacations. Not only is it a hotspot during the summer tourist season, it is a place to unwind, appreciate, and relax, particularly if you do it right. So, do it right! Here’s how:
1. Go to the beach
The Hamptons are known for their beaches. Stretching from Westhampton Beach to Montauk, these beaches are the place to take in the sun during the day, and celebrate at night, shark-free (mainly). For those who do not like the beach but still enjoy the water, there are lots of other options! Take a boat on the sea or Jet Ski through the bay. Look for whales! They’ve been visible from the beach and it is quite a lovely sight.
2. Visit a vinery
For the wine drinkers out there: the wineries in the Hamptons make for not only amazing views, but also for some great deals on wine tastings. Duck Walk Vineyards in Watermill hosts Tasty Tuesday wine and cheese tastings, or if you are looking to upgrade your wine tasting knowledge, head to Channing Daughters in Bridgehampton and take a wine tasting class!
3. Eat outside or inside!
The food at the Hamptons is to die for and the varieties are endless. Check out Jon Bon Jovi’s Blue Parrot for incredible Mexican food, Red Bar for locally harvested oysters, or Rumba if you are searching for fancy drinks and great food on the water. Don’t want to eat out? Grab some burgers and barbecue. There’s no better place to barbeque than in the Hamptons, whether it is on the beach, on a boat, or in the comfort of your own backyard.
4. Enjoy an evening (or afternoon) with friends
Take a trip to Montauk and dance the night away at Sloppy Tuna, a restaurant, bar and nightclub located on the beach in Montauk. There are two floors to relax and enjoy, or dance and liven it up. If you are searching for an awesome time on a Sunday, head to the famous Boardy Barn for $2.00 draft beers all day! Look for; You will end up with yellow smiley face stickers covering your body from head to toe. Visit the Montauk Lighthouse, play a day of golf or visit one of the numerous museums the Hamptons must offer.
Whatever your mood, there’s at all times fun to be had, time to spend, and memories to make at the Hamptons. Try to avoid weekend traffic (no, I will not give away my secret backroad route) and provide up at this point.
