What is the Silhouette Installation Procedure?
The Silhouette Instalift procedure uses sutures that have fewer anchorages. They generally start at the bottom of the face and pull up and by holding the sagging skin it provides lift. It’s sort of a double lift, you have a mechanical lift, but then the stitches are absorbed by the body — there’s collagen production around the stitches [leaving a firmness].
How long does this procedure take?
The procedure usually takes around 45 minutes to an hour depending on the patient.
What does this procedure do to help the appearance of the skin?
This procedure is essentially for ladies and men who have loose skin and may not be quite ready for a face lift, but they’re trying to find a natural solution.
Who is the ideal patient for this procedure?
This may be the ideal procedure for ladies in their 40s and 50s who are starting to see signs of aging. They have some slack but not much and want to pull their skin more towards their ears.
What is the inspiration behind this procedure?
I believe these days everyone seems to be trying to find rejuvenation whether it be with fillers or procedures of this kind that give good results to patients with minimal downtime. This is another alternative to minimally invasive procedures that can be done in the office.
How expensive is this procedure?
I believe it will vary across the country and be patient. I’d say it would run between $3,000 to $5,000.
Anything else to know about the procedure?
Since it’s somewhat new it should be done by a qualified doctor who has undergone special training for it so they know precisely how it needs to be done and who is a good candidate. I believe it is great to have both of us again offering great results to patients with minimal discomfort and minimal downtime. So, I’m really excited to be capable to offer it to my patients.
