What do all of those really important dates, night out, or special events you are attending have in common? You look incredible. Your outfit is obviously the most vital element of your look, but the right makeup provides the perfect final touch to the perfect look.
The main difference between day and evening makeup lies in the amount and style of makeup you choose. While for daytime make-up, bright and neutral colours are more appropriate, evening make-up is the perfect opportunity for an edgy, sparkly look and to experiment with new make-up styles and products.
Appearing bold doesn’t mean inappropriate
Your makeup should match your outfit and overall look, but it is equally important that it matches the event you are attending. For example, if you will a formal ceremony or a gala dinner, it would be wise to wear classic and light makeup, but, on the other hand, if you will a hype new club, it should be sparkling and dazzling.
Also, your make-up should follow the seasons: in the summer, for example, a lighter, more colourful make-up is preferable to a more dramatic, winter make-up. dark style.
Choose between eyes and lips
Think about your best features – are they your eyes or your lips? Your makeup style should be guided by your answers.
The rules are easy: playing on the eye card or lip-card, never both. Otherwise, you can look like a clown or, even worse, like Madonna from the 80s. If you want dramatic eyes, the rest of your makeup should be toned down and, similarly, if you want bold lips, go easy on the eyes and cheeks.
How to accomplish a glamorous evening make-up?
Contrary to popular opinion that only a professional makeup artist can create the perfect evening make-up, by following these steps, you can easily do it yourself.
New beginning
Remove the rest of your daily make-up (if any) and clean your face with a make-up remover and/or tonic.
Don’t forget to moisturize your lips.
Set base.
Apply a light-colored, light-textured concealer or foundation under your eyes, along dark circles and dab over the whole eye zone, from eyebrows to nose.
Continue to apply foundation as usual – wherever needed to hide your skin imperfections.
Your face foundation should match your tan, so it will not stand out from your neck and chest area, particularly if you are wearing a low-cut outfit.
Define faces
For a radiant effect, apply a small amount of highlighter to the cheekbones, Cupid’s bow and brow bones.
You can even lighten your face with bronzer, simply sweep it all over your cheekbones, jawline, and browbones.
Add blush to each cheek and blend well.
Define eyes.
Create a base for the eyes by applying a light layer of matte eyeshadow (beige, nude, or ivory) from lashes to brows.
Apply eye shadow of a darker color to your lids, then blend it gently into your skin. It should not go past the brow bone or the end of the brow.
If you want to make your eyes stand out, apply matching shimmery eyeshadows all over your lids. The darker color should follow the eyelids.
Define your eyes with a black or dark gray eye pencil (for a softer or more smokey eye look) or eyeliner (for a more dramatic cat eye look).
Apply two coats of mascara to the lashes. You can even consider applying false eyelashes, if you like the look.
Define lips.
Apply the same eyeshadow you used to make the eye base in the “V” above the upper lip to make it look fuller (this is specifically effective for those with thin upper lips).
To make the lipstick last longer, apply a small amount of foundation to your lips.
Choose a lip liner that’s a shade or two darker than your natural lips and apply it along your lip line. Cosmetologist, Napoleon Perdis, famous creator cosmetics brand Napoleon PerdisIt is suggested to apply the lip liner yet another time, after applying lipstick, to stop color leakage.
