When you look at the people around you, they have a tendency to fall into two categories. A contented few will plod along through life, slowly building their wealth and relationships (or not, as the case may be). And others take significant risks, make big changes, and do not limit themselves. They put themselves out there and did it. For them, life is an endless battle for the best.
That the go-getter mindset is a rare trait. Most people subconsciously limit what they can achieve in their life, particularly financially. They type on their own, denied opportunities to explore their true potential to create value. This is a tragedy – and it really hurts the entire world too. Who knows how many hidden gems are out there who cannot find the courage to break out of their ordinary lives and go for something big?
However, the great news is that things can change. Anyone can adopt a go-getter mindset and get what they want in life. It just takes a deep breath and acceptance of the risks involved. Nothing sure. Nothing is for free.
Know What You Want
The first step in any go-getter journey is knowing what do you want from life – not what you think you want, and not what your parents say you should want.
No – what you need is an honest conversation with yourself about what’s important to you – and yourself. If you cannot define what you want from, say, your career, you will never really get it. You will undergo many dead ends, unable to claw your way to your vision of success.
Get Ready For Stairs
No one just graduated from college and instantly went to the top. It takes time and plenty of stairs to get there.
Choosing your training is extremely important, whether you choose to occupational therapy degree or accounting qualifications. This basic skill lets you create direct value, which, in itself, is an educational experience. The next step is to take those essential competencies and turn them into unique values in some form. You do not want to just be an occupational therapist or accountant. You need to find a way to make your personal brand unique. People should come to you because you offer something they cannot get anywhere else. That’s how you get out of the mold.
Avoid Community Ratings
Do not take community assessment too serious. People will complain about your lifestyle on your way to the top because you do not do things the usual way. You gave up your weekend. You’re not going out on a night out on the town. You are taking a risk by working for yourself, not for a big company. They can see it as a problem.
But, in the end, that’s how it’s how do you win. You need to do things differently than others to carve out a niche that will bring you value. Be happy having less until you get lucky and get more.
