The problem with boxing is that more than two people are punching
hell out of each other. The innate and animal nature we want to see
blood, pain, and knockout. It really takes us back to the days where
we enjoyed gladiatorial fights in the coliseum. Now, we may not want to
death, but we want action. That does not all the time occur with fists,
and that definitely did not occur in the battle that was dubbed the ‘Fight of
century’.
People love to hate Floyd Mayweather. He talks a lot and takes his time
days flaunting multi-million dollar checks, and exquisite women.
He is nice friends with Justin Bieber and purchased a short-term jet plane
sleeping in a bed full of money. He is a modern criminal. But
he is excellent at what he does, and therefore you should be a bit
little respect for him.
Manny Pacquiao is a national hero, a little man who helped his people,
and donate generously. He is a grinder and a commoner. There is
there’s never too much fanfare, and he is tactical in his fights. I mean him
cool enough to be the butt of everybody’s jokes last year,
when he was deftly knocked out. And after five years of complaining
and asking, he finally got the fight he wanted from Mayweather. He
will be a fight fight. Tickets sold out in 60
seconds, and sales again rose to $250,000. That’s the cost
a house in most of the state. Not really.
Leading up to the fight, I was conflicted. I hate Mayweather, but
couldn’t deny his arrogance. Although, not in my eyes better than
THE GOAT (Muhammad Ali) – he’s up there. But what really changed my mind
see what sort of man Manny is. Over the past year, I have watched
his work with my friend Victorino Noval, for charity and the like.
Is it for relief funds or simply to make it better in general
country – he’s there. He was a bruise in the ring who took his own
punches, and really dealing with all the vile talk that Floyd was doing
he. It’s not all the time the winner who holds the belt in the end.
Sadly, he wasn’t the victor of the incredible tactical battle (thank god
I went to Clippers/Spurs Game 7 instead), but it showed early on
victory signs. However, Floyd plays this one boring, and deep
resourceful, smart. He danced and danced, unlike Ali who took the beating,
he showed us many of the two steps. In the end it isn’t a fight of
century, but fought for statistics. Manny only hit 18% of his
punches, lost 9 rounds to 12. Floyd would do this to you. like real
life, the ‘hero’ does not all the time win, and that is okay. Pac-Man is everything
smiled at the end, knowing maybe, when this fight was supposed to occur
five years ago, this would have been a tremendous match. As all
it is great that Rudy T once said, never underestimate a person’s heart
champion, but also never forget the hunger of the loser.
