It’s not every day that a Hollywood celebrity personality announces that they’re running for president, but when they do, it gets people talking. While there has been much debate surrounding the 2016 presidential election, there have also been some surprises. Rumor has it that Will Smith And Kanye West both made comments about running for president. So, real or fictional?
Will Smith fans got excited when Smith commented, “If people keep saying all the crazy things they’re saying in the news lately about Muslims, they’re going to force me into the political arena.” Unfortunately for the fans, Will Smith was just kidding. “I’m totally kidding when I say that,” said Smith. However, he believes that if he does run, he will have the ability to take on Trump, saying, “It would be very easy. I can handle it pretty well.”
Kanye West, on the other hand, might be a little more serious about running for president. The MTV VMAs took an unforeseen turn when West finished his eleven-minute speech with a surprising climax: “And yes, as you may have guessed by now, I have decided in 2020 to run for president.” It seems that even his wife, Kim Kardashian, was shocked. Kim said on the Ellen Degeneres show, “That was news to me.” However, he believed he was very serious. While West admits to hating politics, he cares about the overall good of the people. In an interview with Vanity Fair, West said, “I hate politics. I’m not a politician at all. I care about the reality and that I only care about people. I just want everybody to win, that’s all I can say, and I believe we can. (Pride Exhibition)
