So we all know what it is like to open a closet FULL of clothes and think “I have nothing to wear!” Why is this a common problem amongst all us shopaholics? Maybe it’s a form of human greed that exists within each of us, where we at all times want more. Or maybe it is the absence of a defined style that holds us back from buying what we truly need. The reality is most shopaholics do not understand how to shop to accommodate what they have already got. All we tend to do is buy whatever looks good in the shop. This type of purchase is normally only used once or twice because it does not match the other items we have. Most people do not take the time to consider what they have already got when shopping. Keep these tips in mind the next time you shop.
1. Take a look at your closet before you leave and make a decision ahead of time what you need to buy to complement everything you have already got. This way you can find what you need faster, saving you effort and time while in the shop.
2. Sometimes it is better to splurge on something you can use 100 times over than to buy a bunch of sale items that do not go with anything you own. Even if you have not selected an actual style, keeping this in mind is a simple way to maximise your wardrobe.
3. Plan purchases for your entire wardrobe as a whole, not just for one outfit. If you do, you will only have one outfit to pair.
Once you follow these easy guidelines, your wardrobe will appear much bigger. For me, some of the staples include ripped boyfriend jeans, a military jacket, a black cardigan, and a white t-shirt. When your clothes match, you will have endless outfit possibilities. And is not that what every shopaholic wants?
