So many men and ladies are chasing super smooth skin, but it is not a dream! Learn some tips for getting the perfect smoothness wherever you want it here.
On average, a lady will shave more than seven thousand times in his life. But did they get the silky smooth finish they were searching for?
Guys also spend quite a lot of time shaving. They are devoted about four months their lifetime to remove undesirable hair.
Whether you shave, pluck, wax, or try laser hair removal, you are searching for one thing: flawless skin. The thing is, you cannot just take a razor to your legs (or wax to your back, etc.) and get the results you want.
There is an art to silky smooth, hair free skin and removing hair is simply the start. Follow all the steps of our guide on how to accomplish smooth skin for charming, touchable and irresistible results.
Pre-Game
Before you try any hair removal techniques at home or at the spa, you should pre-game. The steps you took earlier will help you achieve the seamless look you want.
First, exfoliate. Scrubbing away dead skin helps you get closer to the hair roots.
The more hair you expose, the closer the shave will be. You can use a body scrub, dry brush, or even a chemical exfoliant.
Try mixing homemade coffee grounds or brown sugar with a healthy oil like almond, coconut or olive oil at the start of your bath. Body creams with glycolic, lactic, or alpha hydroxy acids or even a homemade Greek yogurt treatment can exfoliate dead skin cells.
Set Your Shaving Time
After a pre-bath scrub session, take your usual shower or bath to open up your pores. Save your shave for the end to get your skin ready.
The warm water from the shower softens your hair and skin. Your razor will glide smoother and your hair will resist less.
Use the Right Razor
Men’s and ladies’s razors aren’t created equal. This has less to do with inequality but more to do with the area being shaved.
Women’s razors are made to shave legs, pits and more, while men’s razors generally shave the face. The hair in these areas has a different growth pattern and different body contours.
Use a razor made for the body part you’ll be shaving. That way you make sure the best and closest shave.
Stay Sharp
Don’t expect great results from that dirty old razor that has been hanging out in your bathroom for the past two weeks. You need a fresh, sharp razor to see smooth, baby-soft skin.
The blade should feel like it is sliding across your skin, not dragging or getting caught in your hair. Replace your razor every time it looks a little dull.
Creams, Gels and Lotions
You need the right lubricant to help your razor stay fresh and glide smoothly over the skin. Soaps and body gels just aren’t going to cut it.
Stick with shaving cream or gel or find a razor with built-in hydration. If you are out and about, hair conditioner or even baby oil works in a pinch, but using something particularly designed for shaving is best.
Move in the right direction
For the smoothest shave, you need to know whether you should shave against or against the grain. For example, hair grows downwards on your legs, but it’s best to shave in an upward motion.
For underarms, shave in one direction to remove hair and then reverse direction to get to the roots. For the face or pubic area, shave with hair growth to avoid irritation and ingrown hairs.
Close Deal
After shaving in the shower, use cold water to seal the deal. Using cold water closes open hair follicles and helps keep your skin smooth.
Rinse off any remaining gel or cream with warm water. Run cold water lightly over the area you are shaving to close your pores.
After you get out of the shower, instantly apply a hydrating lotion or oil. Keep your skin smoother for longer by using cream, lotion, or oil right before bed, too.
How about Waxing?
Shaving is not the only way to get rid of hair, as we said. Many people choose waxing, both at home and in salons.
You can still follow many of the same rules with waxing as you do with shaving. For example, you need to exfoliate and keep the area clean for the wax to work efficiently.
There are several other pre-wax things you can do to minimise pain and maximize results. In addition to exfoliating, moisturize the area to be waxed to make it easier to remove the hair.
You can even take anti-inflammatories to minimise swelling and pain. Some people even suggest not waxing while you’re on your period because that can make it more painful.
Post-Wax Pampering
After waxing, you need to pamper your skin to keep it smooth. The area may be irritated and reddened afterwards, but there are things you can do to reduce swelling.
Don’t take a hot shower or exfoliate the area after waxing. Keep the area moist and do not wear tight clothing that rubs against your skin.
You will not see fully smooth skin right away, but your hair will grow softer over time. Did you do your eyebrows, full Brazilian waxor your back, waxing provides long-lasting results.
How to Take Care of Very Smooth Skin
It does not matter if you are shaving, waxing, removing hair, using depilatory creams, or other methods of getting hair free, you need some aftercare. A little maintenance goes a long way.
In the days following your preferred hair removal method, it is vital to exfoliate gently. Use a soft washcloth and warm water to scrub your skin until there is no more irritation.
Always keep the skin moist. Moisture-rich creams are great for dry skin and pure aloe vera gel is great for sensitive skin that’s prone to bumps and redness.
