Homer, Alaska
If charming scenery and an abundance of wildlife are what you are trying to find, you cannot go wrong with a fishing trip to Alaska. This is particularly true if you are ready to escape the hectic urban lifestyle. Here, you’ll find charming scenery, clear blue water and snow-capped mountains.
And depending on where you throw your line, you can choose several types of fish. Boat all the way down to the Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon for king salmon and silver. Branson, Missouri
Branson may be best known for its country music culture, but it is also among the best places to be fishing vacation you have ever found. Located in the heart of the Ozarks, this area is home to Table Rock Lake, Lake Taneycomo and a number of other bodies of water.
Bass fishing is the most common activity here. You may even run into a group or two participating in an annual tournament at certain times of the year. The fat mouthed bass is the breed you’ll see the most. And you can fish the shoreline yourself or hire a charter to take you exploring.
Lake Durant, New York
Lake Durant is a really charming small lake located in the Adirondacks in northern New York. The area is a prime fishing spot for bass, pike and bigmouth tiger muskie. Plus, it is the perfect place for hiking and camping.
Fishing on Lake Durant is best done in the early morning or late afternoon, and there are numerous ways to enjoy the trip. The marina offers canoe and kayak rentals so you can paddle across to one of the nearby islands. Or you can just walk to the beach and line up.
During the hotter hours of the day when the fish aren’t biting as well, you and your family can do it explore the area and enjoy the view. One of the most popular tourist activities is the seaplane tour. These planes stop on the beach and take passengers over the Adirondacks to see the stunning scenery.
You can even stop by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts on a day you crave indoor activity. The museum displays art from local vendors and even sometimes hosts live music events.
