Back in the playground days, we all had pigtails, braids, and high ponies that bounced on our lovable little heads as we played. They sometimes get in the way of a competitive monkey bar race, but they make us feel cute and girly at a time when it matters most. The excellent news for ladies everywhere is that many of those same hairstyles are now making a comeback.

This baby high pony is Ariana Grande’s signature look. This is great for ladies who do not like all the hair on the top of the head, but still keep those annoying bangs away from the eyes. If you are more into the vavoom, just pull up the roots before pulling the front up and putting it into a ponytail. This style is not really liked by those with short hair, because the bangs tend to look badass.

Wednesday Addams

Braids never really went out of style, but until recently there weren’t many sightings of pigtails. This is the perfect way to go if your hair is a little dirty and you do not have time to use any heating tools. If you braided straight after a shower, once your hair is dry, you can undo the braid to create charming tousled waves. To turn it into a night look, spritz some surf spray on it and it is good to go.

New Age Pigtails

There are so many variations of pigtails these days, but my favourite is the one that Miss Khloe K loves. After tying your hair into a loose ponytail, use small elastic bands to add the remaining sections of hair until it reaches the bottom. Then pull each section barely to make it into a looser, easier style. It should nearly resemble teardrops running down your hair. You can choose to make the sections as large and/or small as you like, depending on the look you want.

Spice Girl

Two baby buns on top of your head can “spice up” anyone’s look (see what I did there). Whether you are wearing a 90s crop top and choker, or rocking a little Goth for the day, this look compliments anything funky. This style works particularly well with short hair as the few flyaways in the bun give the look that extra mess.
