For anyone who does not live in the state of California, the colours of fall are similar to leaves. The same color scheme is the hottest eye shadow trend this fall. What’s great about these colours is that they complement every skin tone and eye color.
Let’s fall in love with falling eyes.
Maroon/Mauve
While these colours tend to be intimidating, they are literally the easiest to work with. If the colour used is matte, stick to the crease when applying. If the shade has a slight sheen, creating an intense smoky eye is optimal. Pick up a highly pigmented shade like Kat Von D’s Metallic shadow Raw Power and place it on the lid blending upwards towards the crease with a large domed crease brush. For an added smoky effect, use a small brush to place color on the lower lash line as well.
Orange/Amount Burned
For someone looking to relax with a fall look, these colours are the best to start with. They tend to look great in gold and copper tones. Bright orange makes for a beautiful pop of color in the inner corner of the eye or lid color. The burnt pleats with gold lid make for a powerful party eye look. For a highly pigmented shade that looks like butter, take a look at the style icon Marc Jacobs shadows NO. 7 in Young Stars.
Green Forest
Since this color is barely darker, the most vital tip when applying it’s to use a flat, dense brush, and tap it first so it does not run off. Forrest green typically looks best on lids in a dark and/or light brown to soften the creases. If feeling spicy throw gold highlights on the inner corner of the eye and along the brow bone. Achieve this look with the Hourglass modern eye shadow palette Color Field. For a subtle look that comes with this color, line your upper lash line and waterline with a dark green waterproof eyeliner. This can really make the eyes pop with neutral eyes.
