For Spring Summer 2015 Emperor 1688 looks to memories, travel memories, adventure memories, to a time where smartphones and pictures weren’t as instant as they’re today. The collection’s focus shifts to a time when our memory is the only resource we must remind us of our adventures overseas. Certain colours, textures and fibers trigger memories once you are home, returning to your urban life.
This season the Golkar brothers take a special look at Monsieur Yves Saint Laurant and his adventures in Morocco and his lifelong obsession with the North African climate. He returns to Paris with a lingering sense of romance in Morocco.
The Golkar brothers see particularly the colours that are synonymous with Morocco by Yves Saint Laurant, from the blue color of Le Jardin Majorelle, to the earthy color of the North African desert and the dusty color of the summer sky. Using prints and woven fabrics that trigger subtle memories of North African Art and Architecture.
