Hunger Crunch Wins Facebook‘S
GOOD SOCIAL APPLICATION OF THE YEAR award
Hunger Crisis, a recently launched video game, has won Facebook’s Social Good App of The Year award presented at the F8 Facebook Developer Conference in San Francisco. The conference is being held at the Fort Mason Center on Wednesday, March 25th and Thursday, March 26th, and brings together leading developers from all over the world to discuss, demo, and discover innovative application technologies. The award was presented on March 26th.
Hunger Crunch, created and developed by Rice Bowls, a non-profit organization based in Greenville/Spartanburg, South Carolina, focuses on raising funds to feed orphans in 54 orphanages in eight countries all over the world. One-touch side-scrolling platformer follows the player, who rides on the back of a legendary monster called “Beasty”, as they aim to rid the world of hunger and its annoying army of minions. Fun, fast-paced, and graphically sophisticated, Hunger Crunch is a whimsical journey through a fantasy kingdom with the benefit of real-world humanity. In addition, the built-in features make it easy for groups to organize tournaments and compete against one another to raise money, fight hunger in the game in addition to in the real world.

There are 12 levels with a distinctive stomp mechanism that enables the player to jump over chains and destroy enemy monsters, thereby eliminating hunger. Players collect candy coins at each level, but players can even use real money to buy candy coins in bulk, with 100% of the in-app proceeds going to help feed kids all over the world through the Rice Bowls organization.(www.ricebowls.org)…Again
