Urban Decay “was in no doubt” when they decided to team up with celebrity rocker Gwen Stefani for their first-ever make-up collaboration. Known for her bold red lipsticks and edgy looks, Stefani is the perfect match for Urban Decay.
As a singer, songwriter, fashion designer, and entrepreneur, Gwen is just rightly in the beauty market. “When Urban Decay came to me to collaborate, I immediately thought they were the perfect match,” says the music star. “The way they build the company is very similar to my aesthetic and approach. It’s all about creative self-expression, being strong and not being afraid to step outside the box. Everyone in my life knows I love makeup. From a very young age it was my artistic passion. I actually used to be a makeup artist. I love wearing makeup and have many ways to express myself through it. This is my war paint. Being able to collaborate with people who understand the concept and who are just as passionate is a dream come true. We’ve created and created products that I literally use every day. It’s the real thing. I’m obsessed with everything we’ve done, and I can’t wait to share it.”
Urban Decay’s Chief Creative Officer and founding partner Wende Zomnir has been a fan of Stefani since she first heard No Doubt’s 1995 hit “Just a Girl”. Stefani has teamed up with Zomnir to infuse her fashionable aesthetic into everything from the colour palette to the packaging.
The limited edition collection will be launched on 22 November 2015.
