Charles Darwin (1809 to 1882) is best known for his theory of natural selection and his books Origin of Species.
However, this is an abridged 1872 title which is the sixth edition; the title of the original 1859 version by British publisher John Murray was: On the Origin of Species Through Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Races Favored in the Struggle for Life.
During an expedition with the HMS Beagle to the Galapagos Islands in the 1830s, Darwin gathered evidence for his theory of the origin of species.
For 2014, IWC Schaffhausen, committed to supporting the Charles Darwin Foundation, introduces the “Expedition Charles Darwin” Aquatimer Chronograph Edition.
The “Charles Darwin Expedition” Aquatimer housing Caliber 89365 was created in honor of Darwin’s visit to the Galapagos Islands and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this watch will be donated to the foundation.
