Recently the dress code around is changing. Especially in offices and enormous businesses. Casual Friday may no longer be the only day to dress during the week. Suits and dresses aren’t any longer needed for each day at the office. It’s slowly becoming the standard for both men and ladies to wear (clear dress) jeans to work. Here are some tips on how to keep your jeans professional and it is all about how you wear them:
Wear with blouses and blazers.
Instead of wearing pants that match your suit, wear jeans. If you want an outfit that’s a little bolder, choose a colourful or patterned blazer rather than the standard black, gray, or brown. When choosing a shirt to pair with a blazer, make sure to dress it up. Don’t wear t-shirts. Find a blouse or button down and add some accessories to match.
Choose a dark wash.
When deciding which of your favourite jeans to wear to work, choose a darker color. The darker the wash, the better. This will make the entire outfit look professional. Lighter washes can look a little too casual. Keep the lighter washes for the weekend. If you are just starting a trend and want to test how it goes, try black denim. It’s as snug as jeans, but when worn properly it can look as professional as trousers.
Find the right shoes.
Flats, heels, and booties are perfect for professional jeans. They make jeans look fashionable and cozy. Save your Nikes or sneakers for casual Fridays or weekends. It’s easy: if you wear jeans with your casual shoes, it will emphasize the casual vibe of jeans. If you wear some nicer shoes with your jeans, they will look work-ready.
Wear them at the right time.
Be smart in choosing to wear jeans. If you have a vital meeting with prospects or investors, wear a dress or skirt. Be sure to pay attention to your schedule. How you look in meetings says something about who you are and will leave an impression on anyone you meet. Wear jeans on slower days where you will be at your desk.
