For the first time, the art of living presentation has given a new face to cosmetic surgery with Park Avenue’s triple board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Ramtin Kassir presented his art – the figurative clay sculptures he creates from life – and the faces he sculpts with precision, authority and artistry at a distinctive event on 9 September 2014 at Tribeca’s prestigious gallery One Art Space located at 23 Warren Street. The “faces” that emerge in this extraordinary blend of various artistic expressions, are patients and celebrities representing more than 30 countries.
Dr. Kassir is very famous for his Ethnic Rhinoplasty procedures which are performed on patients of African-American, Asian, Hispanic and Middle Eastern descent. Representation of this work will be present at the September 9 event, which will juxtapose a clay sculpture of The Doctor with a sculptural nose and body.
“Rhinoplasty in ethnic patients requires a different approach than in Caucasian patients,” said Dr. Cashier. “While individuals vary dramatically, there are some characteristics in common across different ethnicities that can make rhinoplasty more challenging. But underlying this desire for physical improvement is the feeling that changing one’s ethnic expression can be an empowering change. But it takes skill and sensitivity to get cosmetic results that beautify the face while respecting and preserving ethnicity; the race is not erased but the overall appearance is improved and certainly, from the patient’s point of view, significantly improved. Visual enhancements are the theme this yearBEAUTY FACE which will showcase the “art” of Dr. Kassir in numerous genres.
“We organize this annual event to allow our patients to have a moment to proudly acknowledge their plastic surgery and the positive value it brings to their lives. Surgery is like sculpture, to me an artistic process that requires balancing aesthetics with individual goals – goals that each patient identifies with as they seek to improve their appearance and my goal as a surgeon is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcome.” Patients including women of extraordinary beauty from Afghanistan, Albania, Aruba, Barbados, Brazil, France, Iran, Japan, Peru, Russia and other countries around the globe appeared on September 9th events to celebrate their individuality.
