Beauty Expert Donna Fay tells you skincare and grooming for men, without feeling like one of the “girls”
Beauty Specialist Donna Fay talks about how with regards to skincare, beauty products and grooming, it is perhaps uncommon to see more men so interested. In the start, the term ‘metrosexual’ was not used voluntarily by many men. But now, it is 2015 and it seems socially acceptable for men to be more interested in looking younger and more attractive, without being branded with negative stigma.
With all this cosmetic surgery talk, it has to start from something smaller – say, the increase in men buying skincare products. Studies have shown that men are willing and inclined to use their partner’s lotions and potions to attain a glowing skin.
26% of men use partner shower gels and lotions; 19% admitted to using their partner’s facial creams, including topical acne medicines and eye creams. And with the newest skincare line and treatments for men and ladies by MD Face Skincare, it is socially acceptable for men to look after their skin without feeling like one of the “ladies.”
Regarding the procedures men perform, The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has kept track of hours of research work and has done plenty of research. The most popular or requested cosmetic surgery procedures in men are – eyelid surgery, hair transplant and chin liposuction! Donna Fay, “Aesthetician” at Pearlman Aesthetic Surgery, says, “People embrace strong features like ethnic and non-traditional noses.” tops the list too, but it does not stop there. Injections are the hottest non-surgical procedure to which men are just as addicted as women.
Embracing what you have means balancing or enhancing natural features rather than changing them drastically. So it seems that ‘metrosexual’ will become a thing of the past, as all men will start to be more interested in looking better. Of course, looking better “affects what happens to you at work…some men see plastic surgery as a strategy to increase company profits and their own salary,”
What does it all mean? Looking younger and feeling confident in your skin are trends that are sure to stick around and stick around for men now and for years to come.
