The singer behind the hit single “Hide Away” is not even 18 years old, and has been releasing new music, appearing on the “Today Show” and preparing to go on tour. I met Daya at Electric 94.9’s Acoustic Christmas where I asked her how she was taking it all.
“I mean it is crazy for me this whole thing has happened. I must be a senior in highschool now so it is pretty crazy. But, I love doing shows and that I love meeting new people and just putting myself out there and traveling and it is all been great for me.
Daya will be touring with Jack & Jack in February, and she’s revealed which cities she’s most looking forward to.
“I’m looking forward to Pittsburg because it is my hometown and that I like to play for my family and friends and just to check in with them and see what I’ve been up to, because I’m never home so it is all the time fun. reunion when I’m at home like that.”
As for artists he wants to work with, “I believe a collaboration with The Chainsmokers or Ed Sheeran would be really cool. I do not know it is quite over the top now but he is really cool and I believe in the future sometimes it will be awesome. “
It seems that things aren’t slowing down for the 17-year-old in 2016 either.
“I’m releasing a new album, and I’m going on tour with Jack & Jack in February, and, I don’t know, no matter what happens, I’m excited for it.”
