The swan song is among the saddest things to witness and listen to in a person’s life. And in terms of watching athletes retire or go it hurts the soul. This is the last year the world will see the great Kobe Bryant play in purple and gold. With that being said last year was also the last time Mamba would be seen in his signature Nike line. The Nike Kobe 11 will be the last shoe Kobe will wear on the court. Kobe has been with Nike since the summer of 2003 after his contract with Adidas expired. He received his first signature shoe in 2005 and from there greatness was born. Kobe’s signature line has become one of Nike’s most successful brands alongside the Jordan brand and LeBron line. Many of the shoes feature a low cut, and it is fitting that the Kobe 11 follows in the same footsteps.
This new model features an improved flyknit that makes this model more strong than the previous model. The first colorway pays homage to the painful Achilles tendon injury that Kobe suffered in 2012. This model features an all-Red upper that extends beyond the black along the back of the shoe. The underside contains a transparent outsole that covers the traction pattern. On the back of the right shoe features the great Greek god Achilles!
Eric Avar has been the mastermind behind Kobe’s signature line and he has returned to creating greatness and possibly the best Nike shoe of 2016. There’s still far more colorways to be released, but for now look at the image under “Achilles Hell” together with the video.
