Millennials of this generation are by far the most photogenic individuals ever- and why not, they’ve access to the best editing tools to make every post perfect right on their phone!
#Instafame right? What agency represents you-Instagram? –But jokes aside, this is the current status for millennials to gain an edge over the competition. Hence, why their views on cosmetic surgery and cosmetic treatments, both invasive and non-invasive, are so different from those of previous generations.
After talking to Angela, a fellow millennial and up-and-coming model who recently underwent lip injection enhancements, I’ve come to understand the increasing trend today and their overall impact on society. For Generation Y, social media is part of everyday culture, not only for fun and games, but also for brand building. Of course, millennials feel pressure to follow their own filter. Instagram and other social platforms are continuously challenging reality in our quest to get the “right” “likes”, followers, or potentially attention.
Angela stated, “Despite the dramatic increase in young adults getting plastic surgery because of social media, it is still controversial. Many girls still want to hide even though it is becoming more and more routine. It’s important though not just to jump on the bandwagon but actually do the research. I am very open minded about the latest and state of the art procedures as long as they are commensurate and produce optimal results.” For Angela, the main concern was her sneer. She wants the fuller, plump lips that both men and ladies desire- particularly attracting more attention when she shows off her already attractive smile!
Angelina Jolie, Marilyn Monroe, Eva Mendez, and Jennifer Garner all have one thing in common – they’re most famous for their flawless lips. In some cases, it is their iconic pout that has allowed them to attain the fame, fortune, and success they’ve. While we’re not all blessed with luscious lips, modern medical advances have made it possible to get closer to the flawless, youthful, and plump wrinkles that drive us wild- Enter Kylie Jenner. With a major influence on the more and more mature millennials, the lips revolution and evolution is upon us.
Lip augmentation It can be done in a number of ways, including collagen injections, surgical changes, and compact lip implants. Thanks to the numerous different options, men and women who want a better pair of lips have a number of other ways to enhance their faces. Some procedures are minimally invasive and semi-permanent. Others are permanent, and are performed under general anesthesia. Because there are too many different variations of treatment, it is usually best for patients to know what they want before going into any lip augmentation plan.
Each option has its own advantages and drawbacks, meaning the best type of lip augmentation will vary from person to person. For example, a lady who criticizes her thin lips may find that a series of lip injections will make her lips look fuller, more “bee-stung.” On the other hand, a lady who is tired of staring at uneven lips may find that corrective surgery is the best choice.
When making the decision to opt for a lip augmentation procedure, it is best to find out what you do and do not want in your lip augmentation plan. The more willing you are to share with your doctor, the better she or he will be at telling you what the best procedure is, and how to make the most of your lip augmentation.
The first time Angela looked for a board-certified surgeon, she did not get the results she expected. “My experience was bad. I was referred by a friend who has astonishing lips and went to this particular doctor. It’s in the basement of the salon. According to Angela, there was poor communication. Treatment felt rushed by doctors, no instructions for recovery process or what to expect, and it was painful! Most millennials either do not know any better, or often if it is affordable- do not seem to care. Angela even gave lip injections a second chance which resulted in even worse results, reactions to the injections.
The moral of the story is millennials are so keen to change themselves for their photos, they miss the bigger picture. Not until Angela was introduced Dr. Gordon Kaplan, a board-certified specialist surgeon he really feels in good hands with. —And besides, it is your face we’re talking about here. Dr. Kaplan specialises in Breast Reconstruction, Head & Neck Reconstruction, Hand Surgery and Aesthetic Surgery. He serves his clients by offering the latest techniques and innovative treatments for complete facial rejuvenation, specializing in facial fillers such as Radiesse, Juvederm and Botox.
“Dr. Kaplan was very thorough in educating me and his technique. He even made me look at myself in the mirror and question my motives and expectations for the look I wanted,” said Angela.
Nothing is going to stop this generation from advancing the cosmetics they’ve. It is essential that top board certified surgeons don’t take advantage of their social vulnerabilities. This is all they know. Improvement is a social norm. Because young adults are more likely than ever, the message to millennials is to invest in the right surgeons who have your best interests at heart.
