In Los Angeles there’s never a scarcity of things to do, places to visit, and folks to see. But one agency took California’s pop-up event industry by storm. Summer Sky, an experience agency, has successfully implemented pop up events across the country hoping to do one thing – make noise. With clients like Food Sharingthe app that makes ordering from your personal chef as easy as the click of a button and Gigmor, the social networking platform dedicated to musicians, agencies had to find new and thrilling ways to capture the attention of their clients.
The creative team set off and did what most Angelenos do best – hit the road. They knocked on the doors of local businesses all over Silicon Beach and asked startups what they really wanted consumers to know about their business. What are their answers? For people to actually know what it is like to experience their product. Whether it is an app, a new gadget, a restaurant or a retail store, business owners want people to have the opportunity to try their product and make a decision whether or not they will enjoy it for themselves or not.
The concept suited the Summer Sky team and they ventured to test the boundaries of brand awareness through a local pop up event. Partnering with Foodie Shares, the agency hosts among the best sunset network mixers in Santa Monica with over 70+ guests attending all with one thing in common – a love of food and good music. Foodie Shares provides gourmet cuisine prepared by the same cooks who make the food for their app and guests can test food, meet the people who prepare it, and enjoy live music over a glass of wine.
“This show is really about people having fun exploring the cool new things the brand has to offer,” said Summer Brighton, creative director of Summer Sky. Summer quickly used her broad sense of creative surrealism to create fun, and fast ways to make a big brand impact. Summer continues, “Pop up events give digital brands the ability to be tangible to consumers and have a physical presence in local markets.”
These events allow concepts to be experimented with and the outcome of every event can be measured in the surge in brand awareness that instantly follows. Using this technique, agencies like Summer Sky can strategize events focused on attracting the attention of influential bloggers, celebrities, and media representatives to receive quality reviews as a result. Where else can influential people get free massages, cocktails, music and performing arts than one of the Summer Sky events? Past events have included collaborations with Soothe – an app for on-demand massage and San Francisco artist Lindsey Millikan. The event “The Zen Den” focuses on bringing peace and tranquility to guests through on-site massage services. Guests can enjoy drinks, massages, listen to music and watch Lindsey create one of her famous pieces of art before it’s donated to Children’s Hospital San Francisco.
So what is the next show Produced by Summer Sky? Maybe a pair of trapezes, an experience water show, and a nature walk. Oh, and open bars… there are all the time open bars.
