The Royal Sydney Botanical Gardens are one of the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere. It all started in 1810 with Governor Macquarie and his wife, and over time grew into an oasis of calm in the middle of a concrete jungle. If you get tired of walking and looking out at all those extraordinary plants, you can at all times sample or sip some hot tea and coffee at the Botanic Gardens restaurant.
