The drama between Kanye West and Taylor Swift has never subsided since it started in 2009. Now seven years later it is hotter than before. West called Swift a “bitch” in her song, “Famous”, and she was debate whether Swift approves it or not. West should have called him about the lyrics and it was all agreed upon until the song was released. Swift admits she never did Approved it’s, but there’s video of the phone conversation that might prove otherwise. Now law action is being taken against Kim Kardashian West, who leaked the video via Snapchat, and Kanye West.
It all started in 2009 at the VMAs, when Taylor Swift won “Song of The Year”. During her acceptance speech, Kanye West interrupted her and shared his thoughts that Beyonce should have won for her song “Single Ladies”.
At the 2015 MTV VMAs, Swift and West seemed to settle their differences when he presented her with the award and posed for photos with and with his wife, Kim Kardashian West.
Now seven years later, everything is repeated.
Kanye West releases his latest album, “The Life of Pablo”, on February 14. “Famous”, refers to what happened between Swift and West and says:
“To all my Southside niggas who know me best
I feel like Taylor and that I might still have sex
Why? I made that bitch famous
Oh Lord
I made that bitch famous”[1]
Swift and her team have denied ever agreeing to be referenced in a derogatory manner.
West then took to Twitter saying he called Taylor and chatted for an hour with her about the line. He also said he even helped write the lyrics.[2]
West then released the music video for “Famous” in July, which featured wax figures of naked celebrities in bed, including Swift. This creates another problem.
Kim Kardashian West defended her husband and told GQ, “He actually agreed to that. He really knew that it would come out. He wanted to suddenly act like he didn’t. I swear, my husband is such a pain in the ass [when] he really kept to the proper protocol and even called for approval.”[3]
He also said there was video evidence of the phone calls that would make Swift a liar.
Sunday, this whole disaster became the main topic of dialogue Keeping Up With The Kardashians. After the episode aired, Kardashian West took to her Snapchat and showed the world a recorded phone conversation in which Swift said “it’s a compliment” to be on the track. A letter from his lawyer to Kanye’s lawyer made it clear that anyone secretly recording the phone conversation was committing a felony under California law. The conversation between Swift and West was recorded in an LA studio according to TMZ.
The letter also read, “You are hereby requested that you immediately destroy all such recordings, giving us assurance that this has been done, and also guarantee that these recordings have not been previously shared.” [5]Now, Swift has legal cases against Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West.
