Held every October at the crossroads of America’s three wealthiest counties. The event’s upscale demographic of over 35,000 spectators travel from across the New York metropolitan area, attracted by the see-and-see fall jewelery scene, lavish tailgating, and world-class thoroughbred towers.
The event is co-sponsored by the Open Road Auto Group and Peapack-Gladstone Bank. The event benefited the Somerset Health Care Foundation, which supports the Robert Wood Johnson Somerset University Hospital in Somerville.
Since the 1950s, the event has raised over $18 million for Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, previously known as Somerset Medical Center. In recognition of the support of the Far Hills Race Meeting Association – the hospital’s most generous philanthropist – the hospital named the Steeplechase Cancer Center in the association’s honor.
