Don’t let the heat dictate your lipstick game. If you are afraid of lipstick fluff and messy from high temperatures, liquid lip colours, lip pencils and matte lipsticks are for you. These three are trending this summer in a wide range of colours, but I have the scoop on four of the hottest dupes.

Instead of MAC’s $17 Twig Lipstick go for Maybelline’s virtually identical Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lip Color in Touch of Spice for just $8. The formula applies smooth but dry with a matte finish. These lips are great for everyday wear and compliment every skin tone and makeup look.

The famous mauve tone can be seen all over Instagram and can cost a fortune. The most famous shade is MAC’s Faux which is paired with Whirl lip liner. When this item is out of stock (and it is going to be) or if you do not feel comfy spending $16.50 on a lip pencil, you can head to your local Ulta or Target to pick up NYX’s Flutter Kisses. For only $6 you get a brilliant rich finish. Or to tone up your lips, you can all the time switch to matte lips with a translucent powder.

When full face makeup is not an option for warm summer days, opting for a bold lip color is a simple way to stay glamorous without worrying about it falling apart. Even although dark lips are considered a winter/fall trend, it works well for summer time, particularly summer nights.
