Conor McGregor is an Irish UFC fighter and holds the interim featherweight title. His career has taken off in the last two years, particularly after his knockout fight with Diego Brandao at UFC Fight Night Dublin in July 2014.[1]
McGregor, known as ‘The Notorious’, made a fortune from his win at UFC 189. He made a $500,000 profit for the fight and a $50,000 ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus. Between sponsorship and pay-per-view profits, he will receive another $ 1-2 million. In total ‘The Nototorious’ made around $5 million for his UFC 189 fights. This is among the highest gains an MMA fighter has ever made.
UFC 189 wasn’t just good for McGregor, it was good for the UFC as well. It was the second most attended event in UFC history. The event generated $7.2 million from the 16,019 fans who attended. It was the biggest UFC event ever held in the US and at the MGM Grand.[2]
