Kanye West and his squadron of models debuted their Yeezy Season 2 line during New York Fashion Week. The show is scheduled for September 16 and the invite is a camouflage t-shirt. Not only is the collection all new, Yeezy also gave a teaser of its new song during the show.
This show is very special. The show was streamed to select theaters for a wider audience to see. West wanted as many of his fans as possible to have access to the event. This is just the second time she has appeared during fashion week. This past February, Season 1’s Adidas Yeezy line was the first time West took to the runway.
Similar to West’s last outing, he kept the soldier-like theme for this one. The models line up silently in a straight line until one of them shouts “left, left, right, left” and the models leave row by row. The atmosphere of the show is very relaxed. One of the models, Ian Connor even smoked a cigarette while walking on the runway. During the finale, the models line up to have their outfits fade from naked to black.
Yeezy Season 2 is full of neutral tones from nude to black. The models wore trench coats like capes, body suits, army jackets and body suits. Kanye West’s design themed comfort and ease. Most of the pieces in the collection are nude or tan with army green accent pieces.
The shoe styles are as easy as their outfits. They wore nude or black army boots, high sneakers and ankle boots. Some models even wear high heels. Pointed toe styles appear to be common in the ankle boot trend.
A star-studded audience to support Yeezus. The front row included sister-in-law, Kendall Jenner, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian. Wife, Kim Kardashian- West, and even daughter, North, made an appearance. Lorde, Jaden Smith, Anna Wintour, Riccardo Tisci, Common, Michael Strahan and more came out for the show.
