Located in the heart of the city Meatpacking District, New York City, Bagatelle is a French lounge specifically designed to bring back a European feel to the environment. Owner Aymeric Clemente, Remi ProfitJonathan Segal and Celeste Fierro opened the flagship location in June 2012 in the previous Collective space located at One Little West 12th Road.
The mood changes based on when you arrive. If you go during the week, Bagatelle is the place for fine dining. If you arrive on the weekend at noon there are people dancing and DJ for a lunch party. This leads to late at night when Bagatelle turns into a nightclub/lounge.
When you first arrive, you will notice that the establishment is bright because of its selection of white-on-white furniture and decor. It’s inspired by a naughty, sexy, and fun French woman who is inviting and fun! The location offers French paintings with charming flowers on decorative vases, detailed prints on the bar and around the room, and a wide range of decorative wine bottles. As a bonus in the warmer months there’s a small terrace that circles the corner of the building.
Bagatelle’s menu consists of present-day French cuisine spanning two continents: Europe and North America. The chef hails from Alsace, Brittany and Normandy, but has worked under some of the best cooks in the world such as Laurent Gras and Daniel Boulud. Some of the menu highlights include Crispy Roasted Artichokes Salad, 1,000 Layers Crepes Cake, and Maine Scallops “Au Pistou.”
